Teenagers Birthday Surprise using a sketch from Stamping&Bloggging

August 20, 2014 By Michelle Last

It is my nephew’s birthday today and he is 19 {Happy Birthday Alex} and I made this card for him using the Birthday Surprise stamps from Stampin’ Up!

Cheers Card using Birthday Surprise from Stampin UpI stamped the present image using Basic Gray Ink on the Basic Gray Cardstock to create a tone on tone effect.  I stamped the surprise sentiment using a stamp-a-majig with more grey ink onto whisper white and added some Hello Honey cardstock to make it pop!

I had a card from the new Project Life range and simply cut a word bubble using the framelit dies once I had stamped and embossed the cheers word.  It was a little lost so a quick oval framelit made it pop from the background.  I had some pegs lying around and thought they would add a bit of interest so added one to hold the sentiment.

Here is the sketch…
Stamping&blogging Sketch #69

It was made in rather a hurry again, poor Pip had to go back to the vets today and needs another procedure to move some dirt from her infected paw.  Amy gets her GCSE results tomorrow {yikes} and she is busy packing for Reading Festival so to say there is not much time for work at the moment is an understatement.

We have two extra doggy visitors coming to stay this evening too so wish me luck over the coming days, I am going to need it!!

Lets pop on over to see what the wonderfully talented design team have made with the same sketch…

This is such a cool card! I love the way that you stamped the sentiment on your background layer. The clothespin adds the perfect touch!

So cool! Colours really pop, but using that greeting to create the middle layer is real genius and ties the card together so well. Just love it!

Interactive Mini Album I've been busy behind the Interactive Mini Album

I've been busy behind the scenes creating a special mini album for my team retreat this weekend. I can't wait to spend time with my wonderful team—being creative together, sharing lots of laughs and making this beautiful keepsake. If you've followed me for a while, you'll know I have a real love for mini albums. They're one of my favourite ways to preserve memories because they tell a story that's far bigger than a single scrapbook page....
