I have recently been ill and I was so lucky to receive so many handmade cards through the post. The excitement of tearing open the envelope and see not only the beautiful card but the thoughtful message really gave me a boost. It was such a huge comfort to know that people were thinking of me and sending their love and encouragement and I could enjoy the display of beautiful cards for many days rather than a hidden virtual message somewhere on my socials.
